A lot of people play Magic the Gathering, but to some of us a Magiccard is also a little piece of art.
I not only enjoyed the game, but also the art. At events I asked artist to draw me an angel. This collection of Artist Proof art can be seen on this site.
Angelic Sanctum, a short history
This site and the collection it shows started in 1999 with the European Gencon 1999 in Antwerp. RK Post was signing there and being a fan of his work on several Magiccards he drew me an angel on an artist proof... a collection was born!
In the years to come the collection grew stadily, with the Spiel convention in Essen as the main supplier.
In the early years the focus was on getting angels on artist proofs, but when the German Magic distributor stopped inviting artist at Spiel I switched to starting artists who drew me angels A4 format.With the website updated to the latest standards in 2021, collection is fun again and I hope to expand again.
